The Candlelight Boat Tour Amsterdam

Due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) we unfortunately do not sail the Candlelight until further notice.

The Candlelight Boat Tour of Amsterdam

The Candlelight boat tour is an enchanting evening boat tour during which wine, typical Dutch snacks & juices are served. This boat tour of Amsterdam’s canals takes two hours. Departure is from the Rokin at 8 p.m. with our parent company Rederij P. Kooij during the summer season (April to October). From the water, the illuminated canals and bridges provide a fairy-tale atmosphere. With candlelight and background music, the Candlelight boat tour provides the perfect setting for a romantic evening.

During the candlelight boat tour, you will be offered ample servings of wine, minerals and typical Dutch snacks. A multilingual guide will tell you everything about the sights along the way. All our Candlelight boats have a toilet on board. In good weather, we will open the sliding roof. If it’s on the chilly side, we’ll turn up the heating.

Our Candlelight boat tour takes two hours.

From the Rokin, the route takes you along the Grimburgwal, the Oudezijds Voorburgwal to the Oudezijds Kolk. You then proceed along the Oosterdok, past the Maritime Museum/VOC ship and via the River Ij, and behind Central Station. From the River Ij, you will then sail via the Korte Prinsengracht to the Prinsengracht proper and then on to the Leidsegracht. From the Leidsegracht you will then go to the Herengracht and then under the seven bridges to the Reguliersgracht.
